THE PRELUDE

* THE CENTERING HYMN

" Surely the presence of the Lord is in this place
I can feel His mighty power and His grace
I can hear the brush of angel’s wings
I see glory on each face
Surely the presence of the Lord is in this place."

*THE HYMN OF PRAISE..     "  Enter, Rejoice and Come In "

*THE CALL TO WORSHIP

L:  Our God is Alpha and Omega.

P: We have many beginnings and endings.

L:  The one who is and was and is to come is Almighty.

P:  Encompassed in God’s time, our times-our memories, our concerns for today, our dreams for the future.

L: This hour we set aside to worship God in reverence and praise.

P: With open hearts and fragile bodies, with struggling reason and hopeful spirit, we rejoice to enter the stream of God’s presence.

*THE UNISON PRAYER OF INVOCATION

Dear God, we thank you that you never forsake us and that you never stop loving us. Trusting in your unfailing love, we have gathered to worship and praise you. Through your Holy Spirit, touch us, renew us, comfort us, challenge us, for we pray in the name of Jesus Christ who taught us to pray saying " The Our Father Prayer "

 Our Father which art in heaven,

 Hallowed be thy name.

 Thy kingdom come,

 Thy will be done

 In earth, as it is in heaven.

 Give us this day

 Our daily bread.

 And forgive us our debts,

 As we forgive our debtors.

 And lead us not into temptation,

 But deliver us from evil:

 For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.

 Amen.

* GLORIA PATRI

"Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost: as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen."

SPECIAL PRESENTATION

THE MINISTRY OF MUSIC..     "   THE PRAYER”  by ANDY FORREST

THE PEOPLE AT PRAYER - We lift up the names of our loved ones.

OUR HEARTS AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO THE FAMILY AND

FRIENDS OF BARBARA JORDAN, WHO PASSED INTO ETERNAL LIFE

ON NOVEMBER 20th AT THE AGE OF 91.

THE MORNING LESSON           The Gospel of Luke  1: 39-56

39 And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda;

40 And entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth.

41 And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:

42 And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.

43 And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

44 For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.

45 And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.

46 And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,

47 And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.

48 For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.

49 For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name.

50 And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.

51 He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.

52 He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree.

53 He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away.

54 He hath holpen his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy;

55 As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever.

56 And Mary abode with her about three months, and returned to her own house.

" Our Statement of Faith "

We believe in you, O God, Eternal Spirit, God of our Savior Jesus Christ and our God, and to your deeds we testify.

You call the worlds into being, Create persons in your own image, And set before each one the ways of life and death.

You seek in holy love to save all people from aimlessness and sin.

You judge people and nations by your righteous will declared through prophets and apostles.

In Jesus Christ, the man of Nazareth, our crucified and risen Savior, you have come to us and share our common lot, conquering sin and death and reconciling the world to yourself.

You bestow upon us your Holy Spirit, creating and renewing the church of Jesus Christ, binding in covenant faithul people of all ages, tongues and races.

You call us into your church to accept the cost and joy of discipleship, to be your servants in the service of others, to proclaim the gospel to all the worlds and resist the powers of evil, to share in Christ's baptism and eat at his table, to join him in his passion and victory.

You promise to all who trust you forgiveness of sins and fullness of grace, courage in the struggle for justice and peace, your presence in trial and rejoicing, and eternal life in your realm which has no end.

Blessing and honor, glory and power be unto you.

AMEN

OUR SANCTUARY AND PIPE ORGAN

"THERE'S ROOM AT THE CROSS FOR YOU THERE'S ROOM AT THE CROSS FOR YOU. THOUGH MILLIONS HAVE COME, THERE'S STILL ROOM FOR ONE, YES THERE'S ROOM AT THE CROSS FOR YOU."

JESUS SAID, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.  MARK 8: 34

The Hook & Hastings Opus 123 (1894) organ was designed and built for our church and was “presented” to the church by the Ladies’ Sewing Circle in 1897. Original Hook & Hastings Pipe Organ (Opus 1615) pipe fence facade, showing beautiful original 1894 wood casework. The key desk was removed from the face of the instrument and replaced by a freestanding console with the Rostron Kershaw rebuild. Initially the console was simply moved forward, just behind an altar screen. At some point, it was rotated 90 degrees and moved to the right (as one faces the altar). The organ facade and movable console is presently set at a right angle to the right side behind the altar.
